Hey Dude!
I am taking advantage of the free time I have now to visit some cities (and not ski stations!) and to enjoy and relax myself.
I am not a very well organized boy and usually I plan my vacations last minute according to the available flights and interesting destinations. Everything started with a short weekend in Verona where I visited the city center, the huge Arena, Romeo and Juliet’s Balcony, Ponte Vecchio and other places.
Then, as a second step, I took off to Barcelona (please pronounce it with a Spanish accent) where I spent 8 days together with my friends Pelo and Piz. We haven’t booked anything except from the flights , once we have arrived there we found out a good place to stay. At first, I thought it could have been a more relaxing vacation but actually we have been good tourists and we have visited as much as we could; once I though I could have died because we walked for 21 km and it was really hot and sunny; I know I am a sport man but that was though for me as well!
Gaudí’s architectures are terrific! We have been to Sagrada Familia, Casa Battló and Gaudí’s parks, unfortunately we couldn’t have visited all the park because of the long waiting line. Since we were there for a ‘relaxing’ holiday we decided to spent half a day lying down on the beach and I also get into the water (even though not totally). Moreover, the things that I liked most of Spain were Paella and food truck Tacos.
Since now I am at home I restarted going to the gym and with some physical exercises. I thought this month could have been more relaxing but actually I find myself into many different things that I couldn’t manage during winter season. I am an handyman, I cook, I do grocery shopping and I drive across Brianza almost every day. During weekends I enjoy my real free time in Bormio, close to the mountains, with fresh air and together with my friends, here it feels like home! I push myself into soccer, basketball and tennis matches, or whatever it can be played outside and that is funny.
In the mean time I am thinking of how to get ready for the next season. Since I am now in National Team A my calendar is getting full of trainings and competitions. I decided to print it in a huge format and to stick it to the wall in my bedroom to remind me which are the next steps. There will be lot of different opportunities and challenges I am ready to face. One of the most important thing that every athlete should keep in mind is that for doing this life you have to enjoy yourself. Skiing with passion is the most important thing and is the only way to reach more important results!
I will show you which are the big news for the coming season in the next posts. I can just tell you that on Monday June 6th I will be in Olgiate Olona with my Team mates to do athlete’s tests… here I start again.
Stay tuned,
Tommy
