Here I am, on Wednesday April 6th I can officially say that, unfortunately but fortunately, the season is over. Unfortunately, because I couldn’t take part in all the competitions I would have liked to due to some different facts that I’ve already told you. On the other hand, fortunately because I am dead. Sometimes I feel like a ski boots wearing zombie, that drags himself out of the bed, and only when I see the snow I become aware of what surrounds me 😉
I owe you a brief recap of the latest events. I took part in the Italian Junior Championship in Pozza di Fassa. I am really tied to that slope because I am usually training there with the Fiamme Oro team (Polizia di Stato), since it is very close to the barracks. Well, I cannot say too much about the Giant race, actually I was just ending the first run when my skies decided to take different trajectories – it may be that they didn’t like the finish area. I don’t even have a picture of the race since the photographer stood one gate after the one where I got out. While in the Slalom I have reached the first place, I am very happy about it. Nonetheless, the Junior category is composed of guys born from 1995 to 1999 (maybe I can take advantage of this). My team mates are not to be underestimated, I have to work harder than ever. Few days off, actually a couple, and then I have been to Monte Pora to compete in the Italian Championship. We have done a Giant and a slalom in the rain and the snow. The Slalom ranking has been the following:
- Patrick Thaler
- Cristian Devile
- Tommy Sala
- Manfred Moelgg
I can’t be happier, I come back home just at the end of the season with my first Italian Championship podium!
In the latest days I have done some FIS race looking for some points but I came home with tons of salami and anything that can be similar to it. I have been to Les Arc and Pampeago. I am just looking at all the competitions I have done this year (36), they are a lot and in very different countries. The first one in Norway on December 2nd, the last in Pampeago on April 6th.
In conclusion, since skier score cards are now such a trend as the final analysis, I will try to do one as well. I can say I am satisfied, obviously I can always do better, but sometimes I need to remind me that I’m not a machine but a human being, so it is allowed to have good and bad moments. The score of my season is 8,5. This year I really put myself into different challenges, I had the opportunity to compare myself with the strongest skiers, which has always been my dream, to train with them and to learn from them. Moreover, I found a lot of new friends in the white circuit and the coach who I have learned to trust and to ask for advice every time I needed. Finally, it is not a duty but a real pleasure to express my thanks to the sponsors that allowed me to face this season in the best way possible. Some of them with technical equipment, Salomon, and some others with tons of procurements of chocolate, Pernigotti, which I shared with my friends during the competitions. Moreover, thanks to Studio San Martino (Monza) that follow me step by step during the injury and was able to make me stronger than before. Thanks to all of you, that always read my blog and support me physically and virtually.
